Will I EVER learn?

Ok so on Saturday we helped some Members in another ward start building their fence. So afterwards they invited us to come to Rib Slayer with them. They talked all of us into getting the FLAMING MOFO. I should have taken a clue from the name but I didn't. I was a little bit concerned because I was fasting for the Branch's 40 fast after that meal but decided that I would be OK. So after I signed the waver (which is really funny) we got our food. The first thing that I did was lift up the bun to smell it. It is a pulled pork and beef brisket sandwich. It really didn't smell too spicy so I wasn't too concerned at that point in time. So I took the first bite and then the second and then the third..........FIRE hit like a raging vengance from the Devil!!!! I figured oh well it is already burnning I may as well keep going. So I made it through about 2/3 of the sandwich and then the fire is so intence that I just cannot handle it anymore. At this point in time I was trying to decide if I was going to have to go to the ER or not, I really thought that I was going to black out. I start for the water I think that I had about 2 pitures of water while I was still at the resturant. There were five of us that got them and we were all walking around outside trying to keep from throwing up (should have know that it was going to be bad when they deliver that food with an upchuck bucket). Out of five only one actually finished the sandwich. It was my District Leader. He wasn't doing too well and they had a lesson that they had to go and teach so he asked me if I could go for him and he could go to basket ball and just sit there. I wasn't doing too bad so I thought that it would be ok. So we go to the lesson and after about two minutes I get really uncomfortable so I ask if I can use their bathroom. While I am sitting on their toilet I start to feel the the burn coming up my stomach and think to myself... I can't throw up in a less actives bath tube. I managed to keep it down. I said a little prayer and went out and we had a really great lesson and invited the less active member to get on his knees and pray to know if Joseph Smith is a Prophet he gets up from the prayer and is in tears. It was a really great lesson. The entire time I wasn't uncofortable at all. We get up and walk out the door and then I knew that I was going to loose it. So we start walking back to their apartment (I am moving right along at this point in time). We make it to the point where we can see thir apartment and I start to throw up. But I don't want to stop walking because I really need to find a toilet. So I threw up about ten different times as I was walking. This guy walked passed us but I really didn't even care.  We finally made it to their apartment. I was so happy to make it there. So the pictures are before, durring and after. I won't be having one of those any time soon (EVER)!!!

That Is so cool that the weather has been nice there. It has been WAY nice here. Yesterday we got up to 85 and sunny! All of the plants are blooming and it looks good. Did that little tree out front mke it through the winter???

The work really hasn't picked up too much. We are now making a bunch of cold calls to less actives in the Dayton ward. We have seen a little success come from that. We are really pushing forward and trying to stay positive. It is a little discouraging but I know that It is possible for us to find success. Elder Henrie keeps saying that they are going to close the area this next transfer (which has crossed my mind because there are not enough missionaries coming in) but I have decided that I won't go out without a fight. We are going to win this war!!

So yesterday for p-day we made Portland Hipster beenies. Mine turned out REALLY good. THat is something that I thought that I would never make. It was kinda fun though!

Transfers are next Monday!! I will let you know what happens with that.

Love Ya'll and thanks for being the people that you are.

Hello Again!!
This was another good week. We were able to stay busy and to work hard. We still aren't teaching too much but we are working on finding people to teach. I have a goal to give out a Book of Mormon every time we go out tracting. I give them to people that might be a little less than interested but I think that the BOM is so important that everyone should have it. One day they might have the Spirit touch them and they will have the desire to read.
This week we did loose our only Eternal Investigator. It was a sad day but we have to respect his agency and decisions.  We really are not going to force them to keep meeting with us. Just tell us how you really feel and not what we want to hear. Also interesting fact he has decided to become Jewish. Not really sure how one makes the transition from The Church of Jesus Christ to Judaism. From a totally Christ focus religion to a religion who are still waiting for the Messiah.

Sunday Night I got a phone call from Elder Schofield. We searved around each other for six weeks in Gresham. He is now in Oregon City. So he calls me and says that he just had dinner with my cousin. I instantly thought of Grandmas sisters family but it was Kacie and Jason. They were up here so that Jason could interview at OHSU. That was crazy! We went to the Outlet Mall again yesterday and I thought that it would have been crazy to see them there. It didn't happen but that would have been so crazy.
While we were at the mall we all got stuff to make us look like Portland hipsters. I got the glasses. So that is the picture of the week. Us looking like the hipsters that we are:) Yes I am wearing those glasses right now and will be all day.
I also cut my own hair for the first time. It looks pretty good. Sister Smith will give us free hair cuts but I hate feeling like a user so I cut it this time and will have her do it next time so that I can get my neck cleaned up cuz I didn't do that myself. That could be a little risky!
Love ya'll so much

Hello once again!

Time really flies by doesn't it. Elder Henrie and I were looking at the calendar last night and noticed that we only have two more P-days until transfers. That means that I have been in McMinnville for almost three months. And it seems like Andy just went back out but now he is home.

So picture time... The Easter Bunny left a basket for us at the Smith's so they brought it to church for us. They are such an awesome family. They feed us about once a week sometimes more. She owns the hair salon in Dayton so we don't have to pay for hair cuts and she is always helping us out. The other is our P-Day activity yesterday. We all went to Goodwill (Oregons DI) and bought the most outrageous clothes that we could find. The best pants that we could find were girl pants so that's what we are all wearing. My belt has golf clubs on it (you might have to zoom in to see them) and then I bought shoes to mach. Cheapest shoes I have ever bought only three dollars, I probably should have been concerned that Goodwill shoes were half off... oh well. None of us can golf at all. We were laughing so hard. I am pretty sure that it is the worst course ever made. The greens are made out of sand that you have to rake after each time. Super funny!

Isn't that Easter sight cool. The Church is really doing a good job at improving their media. I didn't post. There are a few pilot missions that are using Facebook as a missionary tool but we aren't allowed to use it. As a part of that they showed the little clips on you tube as ads. The day of no more tracting I don't think is too far off.

I had the chance to get to talk with President Morby a couple of times this week. I really try to tell him hoe the work is going and I think that sometimes my candidness comes across as dicouragement. I really don't mean for it to but he called me and we talked on the phone for quite a while and then I had my quarterly interview with him the next day. He is so encouraging. He is one of those people who when you are with him you just can't feel anything but happy.

Thanks for all that you do for me. I love you all very much

April 3

Howdy!!!
This was a fun week. I really enjoyed conference. There were a couple of times that I thought to myself, we are all watching this at the exact same time. It might be in different places but we all watched it together.
Jessica got her ears pierced.... Crazy!!! First the hair now the ears, she is going to town:)
So the work here is really slow still. The sad part is that it isn't just us that are slow it is the entire stake. The nice thing about that is that we all work with each other and when one of us gets down there is another companionship that will pull them up. We have become really close because of this. So we all just get up and hit the doors. Heavenly Father really does have a sense of humor because while I was in Gresham I said that I thought it was funny when people slamed their doors in our faces - it made tracting more interesting. Well now it still is interesting but I wish that there were a few less door slams and a few more people that would even just let us visit with them for a while.
Yesterday we went to the Air and Space Museum again. Dad would really love that place. They have done a fantastic job. They call it a "living museum" because it is very hands on. It is fun. The first picture is me with the Spruce Goose. That thing is soooo big. the wings are 100ft longer than a 747. The plane is in a 7ft pit and then is that tall!!! The second is me getting sucked into the intake. We really had  a good time.
Thanks for being great!! I love and miss you all very much!
